Matias Montillano


Matias Montillano is a member of the firm’s Shareholder Rights Practice Group. In this role, he represents individual and institutional shareholders in complex litigation focused on holding corporate executives accountable for conduct that harms shareholders’ interests. Mr. Montillano was previously a part of the firm’s New Matters team where he evaluated factual and legal theories for liability and recovery and drafted shareholder demands and complaints.

Prior to entering the legal profession, Mr. Montillano worked in the technology industry, and for several years managed the operations of a financial software company.

Mr. Montillano received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law where he was editor of the San Diego Law Review. While in law school, Mr. Montillano interned for the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General; the Honorable Anthony J. Battaglia, U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of California; and the General Counsel of the Department of the Air Force. He also worked as a law clerk for a local securities litigation law firm. Mr. Montillano received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Riverside in Political Science.
