Robbins LLP Receives 2026 Daily Journal CLAY Award
Robbins LLP has been recognized with the 2026 “California Lawyer Attorney of the Year” (CLAY) Award by the Daily Journal, an honor recognizing California legal teams behind the most impactful litigation and legal achievements of the past year.
Robbins LLP was recognized for its work in Himstreet, et al. v. Scharf, et al., a shareholder derivative action brought on behalf of Wells Fargo shareholders alleging fiduciary breaches tied to the Company’s governance and risk management failures. The Firm overcame multiple dispositive motions, secured key procedural victories, and helped obtain a landmark settlement that included a $100 million payment to Wells Fargo—the largest derivative settlement payment to a company in California state court history. The resolution also led to significant corporate governance reforms, enhanced risk oversight, and board-level changes at Wells Fargo.
The Clay Award honors Robbins LLP attorneys George C. Aguilar, Michael J. Nicoud, Craig W. Smith, and Shane P. Sanders
