Robbins Umeda LLP is pleased to announce that Stephen J. Oddo has joined the firm as partner, effective June 1, 2010. Formerly a partner at Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins, LLP (now known as Robbins, Geller, Rudman & Dowd, LLP), Mr. Oddo will focus his practice at Robbins Umeda on securities class actions involving corporate mergers and acquisitions.
“Steve's extensive experience representing shareholders will benefit our clients and the work we do here at Robbins Umeda,” said firm co-founder and Managing Partner Brian Robbins. “He will be an enormous asset to our team and we are very excited to have him on board.”
Mr. Oddo has represented individual and institutional shareholders in merger and acquisition class actions for nearly a decade. He has secured tens of millions of dollars of additional consideration for clients whose investments have been subject to coercive corporate transactions.
Mr. Oddo joins a team that is nationally recognized as a leader in shareholder rights litigation. Named a “serious player” in the field by The National Law Journal and one of its Litigation Boutiques of the Year in 2010, Robbins Umeda has helped shareholders to realize more than $1 billion for themselves and the companies they invest in.
Mr. Oddo earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, his Masters of Science degree in Journalism from Northwestern University‘s Medill School of Journalism, and his Bachelor of Arts degree at Santa Clara University. He is a native of San Diego, California.
